Great Tillamook County ShakeOut

Thursday, October 19, at 10:19 AM

READY. Are your ready to “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” and be a part of the Great Tillamook County ShakeOut exercise that is scheduled for Thursday, October 19, at 10:19 AM? The Tillamook County Citizens Corps Council (TC4) is encouraging all citizens in the county to participate in a practice drill in order to help us be prepared for the next earthquake and likely following tsunami that will affect where we live at some point in the future. How can you participate? On the scheduled date we want you to grab your GoBag and quickly move to a safe location to escape the destructive effects of a tsunami. For those of us who are in Cape Meares at this time, head to one of the four emergency assembly points on Third, Fifth, Ninth, or the Water Tank on Loop Road where you will be greeted by one of the Emergency Preparedness volunteers who will be recording your participation. Did we mention there would be a drawing and prizes to a few lucky residents who participate? Look for more information about the drill on October 5 on this site.
