Our community turned for the January 2026 showing of Rumblings: Preparing for Cascadia. In February 2026 another well attended event featured guest speaker Steve Eberlein with his engaging presentation “Are You Ready to Rock and Roll?”
Thanks to all of you, we exceeded our attendance goals and will receive grant funds to purchase more supplies for the Cape Meares Emergency Preparedness-Conex Box.
These events were sponsored by Governor Kotek’s Plan for a Resilient Oregon (PRO), Cape Meares Emergency Volunteer Corp (CMEVC), Tillamook Emergency Volunteer Corp (TEVC), and the Tillamook County Library. CMEVC is one of two nonprofits in Tillamook County and one of 53 community-based organizations across Oregon involved with informing the Governor’s plan. The PRO will guide the development of Governor Kotek’s 2027-2029 budget and what the legislature funds in 2027 and beyond. TEVC focuses on the City of Tillamook and collaborates with CMEVC and other communities across Tillamook County through their membership in the community-based Tillamook County Civilian Corps Council (TC4). CMEVC is the emergency preparedness arm of the Cape Meares Community Association.
